So - by default apc_store serializes objects before they are stored -
For PHP 5.5 the apcu extension (replaces apc after 5.5) has some more hooks though, you may be able to have
a suspend function which will do this for you when apcu is enabled

The other trick might be to register your own apc_serializer that falls back for other items and basically doesn't serialize but just stores the pointer...

@saveriocastellano — I'll poke around a little bit more on this in the future but for now it doesn't seem too possible. :-(
