Google will only accept Integer values as event values. What reason would there be to send anything else?

@jtillmann I will try to contact them. But, in general, these analytics are all about tracking events based on Category, Action, Labels, and Values, so not all use cases should end up with numeric values. Below are a few examples of why I need Strings:

  1. In the case of login/signup, I want to track Event Value as a string like "User123", "UserName"
  2. When there is an action or button on UI, then I want to track its result whether it is: true/false, success/fail, as the string
  3. If any errors in the try/catch block or anything, then I want to pass the error message, as a string
  4. Likewise, in general, 70-80% of cases requires Event Value as a string, and makes more appropriate

For 10+ years, I have handled close to $1-2 billion events through numerous apps, and I consistently see the need for passing Event Value as a string. In sum, the design should be flexible enough to support multiple data types.

Good luck getting Google to change the spec of their almost deprecated analytics tool. I will close this for now.

@jtillmann But, at least do you see any value or uses of it?
