Can you explain a little bit what you have in mind?

Firefox will soon include a Fullscreen API ( https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=545812 ) that will allow us to have a button to request document.body to go fullscreen. We should include this button in the shells and maybe in the template.

Not tracking this bug for v2.

Yeah like when used in another page with embedder. Ok I follow. Nice idea.

We'll need a simplified version of that : http://johndyer.name/native-fullscreen-javascript-api-plus-jquery-plugin

Can we settle on what behaviour we want ? I'm not sure about having this feature on template. I don't see the point. But for embedder shell, it makes perfect sense.

Why do you think it doesn't make sense to have it in template?

We don't have buttons in template, so we can't add a button just for that. We could have a custom keybinding, but F11 already does that. So yes, you may be right here.

So in the end, do you agree with me ? We just change the popup button to a fullscreen one. It would be the same result as what slideshare or other provides on other websites than theirs...

Hi,

Maybe you should continue to open a popup and immediately turns it to the fullscreen mode. Or conttinue to open a popup but with a shortcut to turn the fullscreen mode on (Shit-Super-F as usual).

The last thing you describe is the current behaviour...

I don't see how having a popup improve user experience. We need the kind of behaviour we have with embedded slideshare (flash version).

A fallback could be interesting : no FS mode => open a popup...

hmmmm. So there will be not way to have a windowed version then, right?
I'm ok with that.

A good link to learn about the fullscreen API for webkit and gecko: http://updates.html5rocks.com/2011/10/Let-Your-Content-Do-the-Talking-Fullscreen-API
