Are the two displays connected on one computer or are they separate systems? Yes, the problem is related to units.dp()
from qml-material.
Yes, the two displays are on the same computer, this is a extended desktop.
This problem take place with Qt 5.3 and Qt 5.4 but I've not tested others version.
This problem take place too on Linux and Windows but I've not tested on Mac.

Ok, thanks for the details. I'll check out the problem on my external low-res monitor and figure out how to fix it.
from qml-material.
@iMote If it's only one screen (the low-res one), does it look ok?
from qml-material.
@iMote One more thing, what is the screen density?
from qml-material.
@boghison Hi :) ! I've disconnected and reconnected my high-res screen, there is no changes (just the size of the windows is more adapted when the text is very very very little).
With bug/dp branch installed :
The demo of the Develop branch : no changes
The demo of bug/dp branch : all looks ok but it's a little bit little, maybe it is needed to enlarge all (this is more little than the Develop branch but it's readable it show the same on two screens).
Same results with the develop branch installed.
I don't know the density of my low res screen but it have 1360*768 resolution for around 16".
I'm on linux so maybe the implementation of Qt for this change between Linux, Mac and windows.
Do you understand all of i writed ? Because I'm not too good for speak english :p
NOTE : after change many times my XServer configuration for tests, the demo of bug/dp branch show a very very little size (more than develop branch) for both (high-res and low-res screen) (with both branch installed). I don't know why.
from qml-material.
@iMote Well I speak German (that's your native language I assume). XServer is not our concern (for future reference), but if there are any improvements please post them. Anyway, @ibeliever suggested a manual setting for a scale multuplier, if anything looks to small or too big. Stay tuned on the bug\dp
branch.
P.S. You have to understand the issues created are mostly with Google's design of the dp units, low-res displays are not favored, so that's why there will be a multiplier :-)
from qml-material.
@boghison I'm French :) and i'm happy to meet a German :) !!
When I said change my XServer configuration, it was change the screens configurations.
On every update on the bug\dp i will try and say what change if there is changes :) (or poke me on this issue)
from qml-material.
@iMote I only speak un peau du Francais, sorry :) I am going to add the multiplier right now (it's one line of code) and you see if you can make it look ok :)
from qml-material.
@boghison There is no problem, i wait you :p
and it's "je parle un peu de français" :p
from qml-material.
@iMote Sorry, 1.5 months of french courses is all I have, mais je comprendre, because I'm Romanian and according to wikipedia "The lexical similarity of Romanian with Italian has been estimated at 77%, followed by French at 75%", but this is too off-topic. Have you tested the multiplier (you have to modify the units.qml
file)
from qml-material.
@boghison I am trying, just wait a little bit of time :p
from qml-material.
@boghison With a multiplicator of three, it's perfect !
Looks the same and looks very very good on two screens :)
from qml-material.
@boghison that's look the same as the first image posted on the top ;)
from qml-material.
@iMote so then we can close this :)
from qml-material.
Great, congratulations and thanks :)
from qml-material.
I just noticed that the problem still exists
from qml-material.
@iMote You can just customize it, the same way you did before :)
from qml-material.
Yes i just did it. Now it's ultra big on my big screen and it appear to be good and my lower screen :( :p !
from qml-material.
I've fixed the value of pixelDensity to 4 and the multiplier to 1.4. Now, it work on both screens without problems :)
