Hi Peter,
This is nice, but I tend to agree that this could make the software very confusing to use and that might be no worth it. If parallel_for would not be a macro but a function taking a functional object (e.g. lambda) as an argument you might be able to develop a thread model proper to Grid under the hood. I am not clear on how much work this represents and if the result would be satisfying but we could discuss more about it.

The bigger problems presently are in the comms phases which I am working on; this is only a 10% effect and will get washed out when comms is included.
.... but please do stop working on Christmas day :)
