It's from bitcoind lagging when P2Pool requests a block header over the P2P interface. You can just ignore it, though I'll increase the timeout and make the error more descriptive.

I'm seeing this error today with bitcoin 0.8.5 on OS X. node seems to be working fine (although i have yet to see a payout).

Still seeing this error on my end as well. Using the bitcoin 0.8.5-OMG fork from the LitecoinDevs which should have reduced latency and lag, but I see this error on P2Pool every few minutes.

Yep I'm also getting this on P2Pool Version 14.0

Same here. It seems to happen when the mempool size increases beyond a certain size. Could it be related to (and possibly solved by) this change?
