The result has been collected and added to Google Sheet. However, it seems that the compiler made some internal optimization to the OpenMP CPU code. The CPU performance is constantly better than GPU.
The code needs some debugging to confirm the performance data.

Using all the CPU threads do always performs better than GPU on both Pascal and Surface. However, one single grid shouldn't have all the CPU resources, otherwise multiple grids will cause serious oversubscription. Therefore, I'll assume a compute node will handle 4 grids so that each grid has about one fourth of CPU threads.
On pascal, for CPU num_threads(16)
will be used and on Surface it's num_threads(8)
.

2D stencil has been tested on Pascal, using 16 CPU threads or GPU. The result and figures are on Google Sheet.
