Is this what we currently have as an overview?
from otrv4.
We have identified a few scenarios for the conversations to start or continue
- Alice is online and request a conversation with Bob also online #17
- Alice is online and request a conversation with Bob offline #18
- Bob receives an offline AKE message #19
from otrv4.
I think we need to change those names, since they don't really maps to the previous OTR concepts. Specifically, the word "request" is problematic. I'm also wondering about "receives an offline AKE message"
Finally, we might need different flows depending on whitespace tags or not.
from otrv4.
OK we can move those names from "request a conversation" to "start a conversation".
The "receives an offline AKE message" is separated from "request a conversation with Bob offline" because the asynchronous nature of the event. Also because when you start the protocol you might have messages waiting for you and this describes how to handle this.
And for the whitespace or query string scenarios I believe will deal with those while elaborating the scenario when both sides are online.

OK, but I still have no idea what "receives an offline AKE message" is meant to mean.

We wanted to describe the scenario where Bob goes online and finds out he had messages sent while he was off line and now opens them.
