I'm pretty sure I removed that from the documentation since it wasn't being
updated.
It'd be easy to resurrect if someone did the dirty work (not it!).

The rules links in ossec-wui are broken.
Version 0.8 links to
http://ossec-docs.readthedocs.org/en/latest/search.html?q=rule-id-, but I
cannot find any rule by searching on that documentation.
Ossec-wui 0.3 used to point to osse.net/wiki/index.php, but I get a 403
from those pages now.Is there a page that lists and explains the default rules? Or has this
functionality been removed?Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub

So, the documentation about ossec rules has been removed because no one was maintaining it?
I have a simple idea for a replacement of those links: parse the rules xml files at start/restart of ossec and make them available in a simple html page.
The parser could be something like this https://bitbucket.org/unixist/ossec-tools/src/fb64c70527874f92accdbd6cc5aad8e5c43c841c/ossec-graph-rules.rb?at=master.

We use sphinx (http://sphinx-doc.org/) for the documentation, please submit
a pull request.

I will work on it and submit a pull request in the next few days

Current version still broken. Maybe the link should be just removed if there are no plans on maintaining the rules documentation online.

There are currently no plans and the wui is unmaintained.
