Yes very important issue BTW and very important but tricky to implement for us now cause we've missed the opportunity to embed this information in the maps with initial implementation. Though strange that people don't find it via github search.

Perhaps the devs could check the way it is implemented in other open source gps nav aps, like Organic Maps, which also uses OSM?

It does not display street, but it does display city in the search results.
I do not know how they implemented it in their code.
