@bzelli You need ASP.Net MVC3 installed.

from opserver.

NickCraver avatar NickCraver commented on June 16, 2024

You'll need to install ASP.Net MVC for previous versions of Visual Studio (before they began packaging MVC), you can download it here: http://www.asp.net/mvc/mvc4

from opserver.

Nick,
First thanks for a great product. I’m hoping to make much use of it. But I have no clue what I’m doing as far as trying to load it. I’m not very versed in this technology so do you have like a 1 page install guide? I could not figure it out from the download site on how to install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brian

The picture didn't come through, but if you built and deployed successfully - the only thing left would be to set up the configuration. After you set up the configuration, the site will load successfully.

My problem is that I don’t know how to build this. What do I have to do to build and deploy? I am unfamiliar with the technology this uses.

@bzelli What error are you getting now?
Project not supported still?
Are you up to date on Visual Studio updates?
Have you tried restarting Visual Studio and/or the computer?

from opserver.

bzelli avatar bzelli commented on June 16, 2024

That it cannot open that csproj file. It doesn’t show up as one of the options in the dropdown either.
We’ve restarted the computer.
How do I restart VS?

I'm going to close this out simply because it'll need VS 2015 going forward to work on, but with (hopefully as soon as we can) a .Net Core port it'll also become accessible from the command line. There are many dependency blockers for a CoreCLR port, but many others and myself are working on all of them at once. AD authentication will be the biggest hurdle that's very likely post-RTM.
