thank you for bringing this to my attention. while I don't understand it
completely - I can start to see how it relates to the learning registry
work. which btw, Kevin has forwarded me a ton of reading and resources for.
still have yet to find the time / been able to prioritize / fit it into my
work schedule though.

what do you recommend as a next course of action for investigating
microdata? What kind of timing are we looking at for implementing/getting
more serious about microdata and the LR?

This might be more of an investigation rather than immediate project. We
already have RDFa support embedded in the code, but microdata would be nice.

This topic hinges on some other important initiatives: LRMI, schema.org,
and Learning Registry.

we need to have a better understanding of what's necessary to get data into
the learning registry. from there we can start to look at how we get that
data in and whether it comes from existing RDFa and/or microdata we need to
add. At this point I have no clue what's included in microdata and how that
might map to LR. same with RDFa. so, maybe we just need a detailed mapping
of fields?
