I was hoping to get hierarchy class information for all the classes. Is it still not available? If it is still not available, can you tell how the hierarchy for the 600 classes in bbox_hierarchy.json was extracted? Possibly, I may be able to replicate your method to get hierarchy information for other classes.

You can find them in the bbox_hierarchy.json (but only for the 600 classes with bounding boxes, so the classes present on the graphic tree).

I also believe that the majority of the labels / mids have the same hierarchy as Freebase. Dumps are available on archive.org: https://archive.org/details/freebase-rdf-latest

This is obviously not great. But the Knowledge Graph (that these mids are coming from) is not released (at least, not that I know about). Some bits are available through Google Search, but I don't think there's a good structured way to get it.

After some inspection, find this url on page loading:
https://storage.googleapis.com/openimages/2018_04/bbox_labels_600_hierarchy_visualizer/hierarchy.json

You have the mid --> description in this file:
https://storage.googleapis.com/openimages/v5/class-descriptions-boxable.csv
Which is linked in the "Metadata" section of the Download page:
https://storage.googleapis.com/openimages/web/download.html
Is that what you were looking for?

jimmieliu avatar jimmieliu commented on July 3, 2024

I did not realize this is what I was looking for, bcoz there is one class missing from file class-descriptions-boxable.csv which is "/m/0bl9f, Entity". But it is okay since it is the only one. Thank you.
