Hey @krishnakanthjb can you tell me the content of the request the server is sending back? That's just the generic error we show when we don't have something more specific to show

from edx-app-ios.

krishnakanthjb avatar krishnakanthjb commented on July 27, 2024

We found the response is "{
"detail": "Authentication credentials were not provided."
}"

Can you please let us know, is there any specific configuration change needs to be done?
If yes, please let us know, if that is from server side or in the Xcode application.

from edx-app-ios.

aleffert avatar aleffert commented on July 27, 2024

@krishnakanthjb I would guess it's a server side error then, but it's worth verifying that the app is sending the expected oauth Authentication http header.

Are you using basic-auth by any chance on your server? We've tried to make it work in conjunction with oauth, but there are some weird interactions.

Was this working elsewhere or previously? Perhaps you're missing a config flag on your server. Did you follow the instructions here: http://edx.readthedocs.org/projects/edx-installing-configuring-and-running/en/latest/mobile.html

from edx-app-ios.

krishnakanthjb avatar krishnakanthjb commented on July 27, 2024

Yes.. It's working well with v1.0 with the same configurations, also we were able to play the course videos on v1.0. Not sure what differed on v2.1.

Any help appreciated.

aleffert avatar aleffert commented on July 27, 2024

2.1 depends on new API that did not exist for 1.0 @krishnakanthjb if you haven't upgraded your server you will need to do that

from edx-app-ios.

krishnakanthjb avatar krishnakanthjb commented on July 27, 2024

What exactly did you mean by up gradation..do we need to create the new client Id and secret..or any thing else..

Please clarify as I'm new to server terminology

@krishnakanthjb over the last several months, we have made changes to the edx-platform server that the new code app code depends on. If you haven't pulled and deployed the latest version of edx-platform in a while, you will need to do that

from edx-app-ios.

krishnakanthjb avatar krishnakanthjb commented on July 27, 2024

We are using cypress as platform version. Please let us know if any thing specific. Is The new API containing the 2.1 instead of v 1.0??

from edx-app-ios.

aleffert avatar aleffert commented on July 27, 2024

Hi ALeffert,

Thanks for the reply.

We were able to view the list of courses after logged into the application(with cypress server), also we have observed some of the data in the Handouts, Updates.

We facing problem only for the course content.

Will it help in accessing the course content by upgrading the server to dogwood?

Thanks & Regards,
Krishna Kanth J B
