This is not a bug, as in 1.07eu it works like this. Nevertheless, it is annoying and should be fixed. Therefor moved to features request.

It would appear this problem is already fixed. What happens:

In the first 2 levels, all hints are reset. This most likely to make sure you have seen them. After that, in your savegame, you will only see a hint once. As long as you use the same savegame, you should never see the same hint again.

That said, all my older savegames lost which hints are shown, so it appears we once had this bug, but that it got resolved over time. I am rather unsure when, so please do let me know if this bug still exists.
