Only reason for webm was, that this was the first codec I could get running with our special case "piping" data form node to ffmpeg. But true, probably not the best choice ... for mobile first.

Is just the file container, what matters is the codec inside e.g. MPEG-4/H.264

Yes sorry "format" was not correct indeed. Ok ! I though so, let's have in mind we should switch to MPEG-4/H.264 at some point to be able to support iOS mobile.

@mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Can you try at some point in the near future a proof of concept of streaming with H.264? See https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/H.264 for the plenty command line parameters :)

@b-g Yes, I gonna try this out. Also the last streaming proof of concept doesn't perform well at all. Here we also need to find a solution.

@mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm looked into the source code or miro video converter ... I guess this would be start for the missing h264 streaming ffmpeg command.
