A fix would be to... not write an else at all? E.g. either throw an error on the unnecessary match (seems fair to me), or just unwrap the Match into its only, catchall case.

I like the unwrapping better. A match could be just unnecessary at the moment (e.g. you could have commented out the other cases until you're done testing), and should therefore be a valid construct.
