Are there some special reasons why this application has been developed for desktop only?

Several:

• I like having a backup of my apps on my harddrive (not enough space on the phone; no guarantee that i can redownload when I buy a new phone).
• I want to be able to have a closer look at an APK before installing it. That's easier on the desktop.
• The protobuf lib I use is so massive, that it crashed Eclipse's Android plugin.
• Raccoon provides a lot of extra goodies that go beyond being an APK downloader.
