@qbg that only partially addresses the issue. There are two kinds of paths that probably should be communicated - data and render paths that changed. We also probably need to communicate changed data path when a component sets local state - this would allow us to use ClojureScript = instead of identical?. By communicating changed render path we get huge speed boosts from React if it provides the proper hook.
