It's been a while so I just wanted to say I'm still working on this.

As well as extending the configuration options to allow different MCUs/programmers, I'm adding a 'back up' button to read the current firmware and send it back to the client.

I only have AVR hardware, so I'm just focussed on the avrdude part rather than extending towards other hardware types.

Totally fine as a first throw IMHO :) Just wanted to mention it because that's something that has been floating around in my head from time to time ;)
