You can call LoadSettingsFromFile() on first run with a file dedicated to be loaded once. That’s one way to solve this.

Thank you for your response, I tried searching imgui codebase for LoadSettingsFromFile() and I didn't find this function, Does it load an ini file that I specify ? if that's the case, it's perfect

However, I found this function LoadIniSettingsFromDisk(), is this what you were referring to ?

Yes, apologies, i typed the previous answer on my phone and suspected I didn’t get the function name right :)

i guess you could check if there is an imgui.ini file and if there is none you load this one.

Thank you for your help, I managed to have this as a workaround which is perfect for my issue for now, I did it by generating an imgui.ini file and set the panels to their default "Layout" and I renamed that file "DefaultPanelLayout.ini" which will be committed to my repo, while imgui.ini will be always ignored..

for anyone interested this is the code that checks imgui.ini

		if (!std::filesystem::exists("imgui.ini"))
		{
			ImGui::LoadIniSettingsFromDisk("DefaultPanelLayout.ini");
		}

from imgui.
