Interesting yeah I didn't know about that core module or vertical repo, thanks guys. An affiliate is technically a member, so this very much meets the definition & will provide some better management.
Even in light of the new info, looks like most of my specs are still lacking though. The plan is going to be altered quite a bit, so I will close this and create a new RFC in the proper repo after I let the thoughts simmer for a bit.
