Yeah, it's me :). I encountered another problem in another project. So I searched the github and found this post. I use gdb in MSYS2 and got exactly same result with libpng16-16.dll and msvcrt.dll stuffs(I am using mingw64 for MSYS2). And I thought this has something to do with the libpng library compatibility in MSYS2
Sorry but later I deleted the comment since I thought it has nothing to do with this project

Given noone else has ever reported this issue I'm going to close it. Maybe something was wrong with your initial Msys2 setup? Feel free to reopen this issue if you can reproduce it on another machine :)

It did actually crop up on both my machines, suspect @mjopenglsdl may be right that this is happening upstream somewhere

What's weird is that we have CI environment setup for Windows, and it's been building just fine using a regular bare-bones Msys2 environment.
