nx release with prerelease and multiple preids leading to version conflicts about nx

I'm sure you guys are busy but it would be nice to get some response here.
We can't be the only ones using multiple prerelease streams.
We were using jscutlery/semver before but after upgrading nx and their executor it doesn't work properly anymore on prereleases either. jscutlery/semver#816

I am having the same issue. Using pre-release versions and today it started saying:
NX Unexpected error when creating tag v0.0.2-38
This version doesn't and didn't exist.

But I think I may have a clue. I think if you are using multiple release tags you have to give them a project name via {projectName}
