I tried your command, it outputed
$ appicon Text.png --ipad --output-path Text
Text.appiconset is generated πI want to know your appicon version. Please try below command.
$ ls /usr/local/Cellar/appiconfrom appicon.

Clone the master branch of the repository, then run make install.
