I'm not sure I understand. You want ios devices:add to automatically associate that device with a profile? Many accounts have multiple profiles, making that kind of default behavior problematic. I prefer to follow the Unix philosophy of composition of configuration.

Sorry, I didn't explain well enough. The ios devices:add works great. I was just expecting ios profiles:devices:add MyProfile 'Device Name'=12345 to not only add it to MyProfile but also enable it. Currently when I add a device to a profile it is unchecked (turned off) by default.

My workflow is to add a device using the ios devices:add command then run the ios profiles:devices:add with with the same device to add it to the profile. Is that the wrong workflow?

Does this make sense?

I have the same workflow as above, and the same goals; I would like to add - and enable - a device for a given profile. profiles:devices:add leaves the new device disabled, which (I believe?) requires entering Apple's iOS Developer Portal on their website (which I would like to avoid; ideally everything would be command-line driven).

Following up on this: ios devices:add and then ios profiles:devices:add is indeed the correct workflow. Marking as closed.
