home-assistant-configuration's Issues

Track the access points our laptops are connected to

They are already tracked by the Unifi integration, just need to map the connected access point to away/upstairs/downstairs like it is already doing for our phones.

After this use these states for:

  • update occupancy of the computer room (in addition to the existing computer sensors)
  • update occupancy of the living room (in addition to the existing phone and motion tracking)

Vacuum notifications

Add notifications while running (or maybe even persistent).

And see fi there are error conditions to notify about (like stuck?)

Show vacuum on the home screen

  • Just a simple button with battery state when docked
  • Press button to get popup with details:
    • Controls for starting it
    • Map
    • All detailed sensors, like brush lifetime and such
  • Error messages on the home screen
  • Extended info on the home screen while running

Delay turning off the living room lights a bit

When the lighting living room occupancy switches to 'away', wait until it is in that state for at least a minute or so before turning everything off. This prevents a turn off + turn on when walking upstairs for a short time to get something.

Notify washing machine done

Detect starting/done using the shelly plug S that is already connected to it. Use a door sensor on it to detect that it got taken out.

Figure out a way to determine for which person it is, when just one of us is home that is easy. Otherwise can look at connected wifi point. Last option would be a button.

Add a home cinema state for using a laptop connected to the tv

Add a new home cinema state where the tv is set to HDMI 2 (which is just a loose hdmi cable for laptops). The input of the receiver should be set to TV, sound goes from the laptop to the TV, to the receiver (arc).

Not sure if we really need a state button for this one on the home screen, maybe fine to hide this one a bit more. As long as the system knows we are not in Chromecast mode, the auto-standby automation does not kick-in.

Add an 'unknown' state for home cinema

This would ensure that there is no wrong button highlighted in the UI if the input of the TV or receiver has been set to a weird one.
And it means that for example the chromecast idle timers won't turn off everything, because chromecast would not be active anymore.

Fix desktop pc notifications

Probably the mqtt topic is different because I built a new computer, update that (can find it in the iotlink log)
