@jfowl An absolute path is not returned, due to abstractions. In the usual case it is $datatir + $nextcloud_relative_path.

If you need to modify the file it is best to use %f and copy it back to Nextcloud when the changes are complete. If the files reside on the same server, you could circumevent nextcloud logic, copy it to the destination and run a "occ:files scan " (userid from %o).

The ideal way would be to copy it back per Webdav, but this requires credentials (and on big files you need chunking, pyocclient should still work with this).

I hope this pointers help. Your questions is not an issue or feature request, so the best place to further discuss it are the forums, please understand I therefore close this issue now.
