• I am Varun, a passionate data scientist currently working as an AI and Cybersecurity researcher at ST Engineering.

• My research focuses on Generative AI security and how to make Large language models more robust to attacks like Jailbreaks, Data/Model poisoning, Prompt injections and others.

• I pusued my masters from NUS Singapore. Previously, I have been working for a startup named Textify.ai where I have been leading the efforts of building an AI-powered writing tool using Natural Language Processing techniques and deep learning.

• During this role, I have developed novel features like ‘automated essay grading tool’, ‘predictive writing tool’, ‘grammar corrector’, ‘AI proof reader’ using the latest AI technologies.

• I have worked extensively on tools/libraries/APIs such as HuggingFace, OpenAI, transformers architectures, and libraries like Spacy, Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn, Pytorch, and Tensorflow deep learning frameworks.

• Prior to this engagement,I have been very successful in software dev/machine learning roles and brings with him rich experience spanning more than a decade.

• I have worked across geographies in countries like Canada, Australia, SouthKorea, the Philippines & the Middle East where I got to interact with clients as a technical consultant solving mission-critical issues as well as leading teams to deliver solutions as per their requirements.
