Yeah, there is a desire to implement a background audio component to this at some point, I just don't know when right now. We use this to stream some radio stations, so we'd like to be able to let this continue in the background and maybe show a notification control on Android.
As far as windows phone is concerned, there's a good possibility of this plugin getting Windows phone support in the next 4 months, but I can't guarantee anything at this point.

Thanks I will wait for background audio feature for ios. Right now media streaming on ios only works with HTML5 audio and we need to alter the native code for background audio which defeats the purpose of phonegap build with HTML and js.
