Since you provided an int array, it returns an int array. And since the output is normalized (by sqrt(2) ** N) it gives the surprising result you saw. To fallback on the wikipedia example, you need to do :
fht.fht(np.array([1, 0, 1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 0], dtype=float)) * (sqrt(2) ** 3)
from fht.
