My build system (AWS Amplify Console) already automates Docker image creation but lacks customization options needed to support this.

I believe that because it is an open source project, we have to make it easier to deploy the system if someone wants to run the system locally or at a supplier other than Amazon.

Going back to your case that uses AWS, you can use ECR and ECS. ECR is the docker image repository and ECS is a container orchestration service. I believe it to be the best option.

For the application there would be only two NGINX configuration files and the DockerFile.

Making the project easy to deploy for others is beyond the scope of this project. This repo is only concerned with the client side code.
