Have you updated the app to handle the change in the initialization code (it’s now a promise also it should be called before the app launches) ?

No I haven't... I just call firebase().initializeApp() in app.js. Can you tell me what I should I do instead (it seems to not be in the docs yet)?

I got it to work by moving the initializeApp call to the created() hook of my Vue instance, and awaiting it, like this:

  render: h => h('frame', [h(Home)]),
  async created() {
    await firebase().initializeApp();
    console.log("Firebase Initialized");
  },
  store
})

Is this sensible?

You should call initializeApp before the app start is called
