A broader question is:
How does Spotlight learn?
Typing "imdb "... and choosing the IMDB Plugin should force the plugin to the top for more invocations of Spotlight with "imdb ". I don't think this is currently the case, but my gut tells me that its Spotlights fault and not Flashlights.

True... I heard that Alfred still has a big benefit on that and is much more intelligent.

And true I think it is Spotlights fault here... I thought that it might be possible to priorize the search results within Flashlight.

Here is what I found on the internet, what confutes my first sentence:
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18828

Open an app: Enter the app’s name in Spotlight, then press Return.

Spotlight learns from your searches, so if you enter “s” and open Safari, the next time you enter “s,” Safari is the top result.

Yeah, the internal algorithms that Spotlight uses for ranking are pretty difficult to figure out w/out access to their source code.

That being said, which Flashlight plugin comes first is just a matter of what order they're returned — it'd be possible to add an API for specifying priority and ranking certain plugin results higher.

I really doubt Spotlight is keeping track of clicks on Flashlight results and learning from them — anyway, it'd have no way to know which plugin any particular result came from.

The real question is, why is the sublime plugin showing up when you type imdb?

Facing this issue as well. In my case when I type time California, Open with SublimeText shows up as the first top hit. Always, the required hit is listed second.

Surprisingly, I don't use Spotlight at all. I've been using Quicksilver as the app launcher.

It is my understanding that since the SublimeText plugin is the only one showing up, we could have a better chance in contacting the devs there and see if they could shed some light on this ?
