@PenguinPaul you may be thinking of a period after you have posted where you can edit your post without it being marked as edited.
An example: my post was made 30 s ago I can edit it but it doesn't show as edited.

With edit time limit, I don't think we need to go any further than that.

Edit reason was originally on an internal 1.6 roadmap, I may do that instead.

@tommm Is the edit time a restriction on you having to wait x seconds after posting before you can edit?

@PenguinPaul Isn't that a bit pointless? You can just add that in the post next to the edit.
After a while people will get board of having to write typo when they edit their posts. Which leads me to believe its optional, unless the admin changes a setting.
