You don't really need es6 export for webpack config.
module.exports is sufficient and correct

module.exports is sufficient, however it's worth noting that the webpack CLI itself handles ES6 default exports, so I think it's reasonable to expect that other tools which consume webpack.config.js (like jest-webpack-alias) should also handle ES6 exports.
