I don't think the demo is broken, If you would like to change the label to a text that exceeds 4 characters not only do you need to change the value in the Input Label but also you need to change the value of Label in the select component. In that way, the text will not overlap the box line.

Hello @MolnarLorand as you can see in MUI documentation you need to add the label in two places: in the InputLabel component and in the label prop of the Select component.
