With one small change setting the react-hook-form "input" field value onChange yes I think this will work - my misunderstanding seems to be that I thought the value prop to the autocomplete component could be used to manage the hook as a controlled value - when I did that things got weird. In your fix, Autocomplete is unaware react-hook-form. Many thanks! @sai6855
