Hi @huddhudd, thanks for filing this issue!
By default autorelay is enabled which is very bandwidth consuming, and default connection limits from libp2p too. did you tried by disabling autorelay? Also tweaking connection limits should alleviate this behavior.
There is also the fact that the network is noisy if your connection goes through much hops, by reusing the main libp2p network. one way to get away of this is to setup your own bootstrap nodes.
