I'm facing the same issue with Vite@3 and Vite@4.
Workarround:
When using vite-plugin-stylelint with Vite@4 and [email protected] the installation process throws a warning but still functions correclty.

The latest version of Vite is currently 4.0.1
Do you mean 4.0.0-beta.2?
