doesn't seem to work when ES is behind a proxy about elasticsearch-head

head works fine when es is behind behind a proxy, you need to make sure that head is connecting to the proxied port and host, and you set up any basic auth using url params. you might try asking for help from es or nginx forums. I'm not an nginx expert.

If head is installed as a plugin in the cluster, you should not need any special proxy mappings for head
if you run head locally using the built in server, you do not need any special proxy mappings for head

Hmm I assume I have to change something in index.html? I'm getting that file back through the proxy but it's just hanging after that on a white screen. When you say 'head is connecting to the proxied port' are you saying I'm to change some code or....

I would ask about this on the elasticsearch mailing list - I can't really help with proxy configuration.
