On page 7 section 4 we cite "SDSS (York et al)" and then towards the bottom of the page we say "SDSS (Abazajian et al. 2009)". Seems weird to do that. I think I'd prefer either we drop the second or we add it to the first mention.
While the LSST database is a major component of the DM I have the impression that it is only marginally mentioned in the paper and it is not clear that it is something much more sophisticated than what has been done before in the astronomy field. I would suggest to add a paragraph to describe the major components of the DB and to give a hint on the projected performances.
Similarly, it may be good to mention the database tests which has been run in 2013 and in 2015 and the fact that they have demonstrated that the projected performances and scalability are achievable.
In commit 03d7cdd we replaced a link to the (non-existant) MOPS IAU paper with a ref to LDM-156. The paper has now been placed on arXiv as http://arxiv.org/abs/1511.03199
Should we now add this reference or is it okay to leave it simply pointing at LDM-156? Should it replace LDM-156?

In the abstract, it is said:
data set of over 100 petabytes at the end of its 10-year mission
and then in section 2:
this processing will result in a cumulative processed data size approaching 500 petabytes (PB) for imaging, and over 50 PB for the catalog databases.
I would suggest to keep the figure of 500 PB in both sections to avoid confusion and be consistent with the 0.5 Exabytes stated in the official Key Numbers.
