Thanks for posting this bug Matthew. I know about this bug and it is an issue with the passing the flux data array from C++ to Python in the plotting routine in the openmoc.plotter. It's not an issue with the physics logic. I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet, but now that it's documented I'll look at it.
I do know that the flux plots generated from the GPUSolver do not have these artifacts.
If you need some thermal group plots for a presentation or paper, let me know and I'll expedite this to the top of my todo list.

It's not a big deal. I just saw it and thought I'd let you know. I don't have any need for thermal group plots yet, but I'll let you know if I do in the future. Thanks.

Quick Fix : In function plotter.plotFluxes change the following call to c++ as follows:
# Get the scalar flux for each energy group in this FSR
for index, group in enumerate(energy_groups):
fluxes[index,i,j] = solver.getFSRScalarFlux(fsr_id, group-1)
Was previously accessing a group ahead of what it was supposed to, leaving the group 7 plot to be a shifted version of the group 1 plot.

Thanks Matt! I just integrated your bug fix into the master branch and thermal flux plots are looking great.
