Hey, thanks for reaching out.
Controlling the caching behavior like this is currently not possible.
The module was initially designed to hold the main CloudFront distribution internally and therefore only allows the customization of predefined parameters trough the variables.
But since CloudFront is a critical resource in the architecture and allows a bunch of custom configuration we decided recently to make customizations like this possible in the future.
This is described in #55 which is planned for Version 0.9.0.
We successfully evaluated the idea of combining a user-defined CloudFront distribution (which would allow a custom configuration like yours) with another Terraform module here: https://github.com/dealmore/terraform-aws-next-js-image-optimization/tree/main/examples/with-existing-cloudfront
Based on that we plan to bring a similar experience to this module as well.
