I have developed a dynamic library, liba.so, which references the OpenCV static library. I want to hide the symbols of OpenCV and protobuf in the dynamic library to avoid conflicts with other programs that also use protobuf. I compiled the OpenCV static library and used ‘readelf -Ws libopencv_dnn4.a | grep protobuf’ to check if the symbols were hidden.

yes the problem came out while i was working on the 4.9 update. It will contain a fix for it #38928
