Micah Wiesner's Projects
We examined the loss of jobs due to Covid-19 by county, state, region, and job sector. We qualitatively tested the hypothesis that job loss was dependent upon population.
This is an end-to-end machine learning model in which I implement random-forest and decision tree classifiers to predict heart disease. I utilized cross-validation, and oversampling to deal with an imbalanced dataset.
UR hackathon to make a model which predicts someones age based on big dataset of gene expression.
This repository holds functions I have created (and am working on currently) which should make the life of someone analyzing geochemical data easier.
This is my master's thesis work in Geochemistry. For this project, I sampled calcite and water from an interesting lake to test the fractionation of oxygen-18 from H20-Calcite and its applications in climate studies.
I created multiple models to predict the discharge volume of a 100 year flood on rivers in NY state. The discharge of 100 year flood events is dependent upon watershed drainage area, and elevation among other variables.
