Hi @shula, thanks for commenting.
I tested AttrDict and I don't think it will let you set items using the set attribute syntax, and that is exactly what I wanted to do with addict. :-) Also, addict inherits directly from dict, and such works with all JSON/Yaml/etc encoders, which is handy!

The dict inheritance is being discussed these days.
Setting by attributes works, just not the same.1. it supports assigning by attribtue:
>>> ad = attrdict.AttrDict({1:2,3:4})
>>> ad.five = 'six'
>>> print ad
a{1: 2, 3: 4, 'five': 'six'}
but not:
>>> ad.seven.eight.nine = 10
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:\programs\python\lib\site-packages\attrdict__init__.py", line 117, in getattr
raise AttributeError(key)
AttributeError: seven
I didn't get much into the code, but I prefer your way, since I use this module mainly for configuration.

Hi again,
Yes, let me rephrase: addict can set items in the dict using set-attribute syntax.
Hope you find it useful! 👍
