Auto open of the browser
I am really not fan of this behaviour, as defaut. You may create a gist to send it by email, or just to store it without really needing to view it. Moreover most terminal configurations recognizes html links and are able to open your browser on url clicking.
On the other hand, having a flag like -o
to specify you wish to open your brower on the gist could be useful.
Copy url to clipboard
Yes, definitly, but I am struggling on which clipboard should be used. Between X's, primary and secondary ; how to handle other os. And I wish not to introduce too many dependency to other tools like xclip
. I saw that gist
is listing known clipboard commands and realized I have none of them installed on my computer.. I'll take some time to think about it, but for now, I don't see any clear solution for every user.
Still, thanks for your suggestions

No worries at all. I'm happy to share some ideas with you.
I agree with passing -o
as a flag to open the URL after creating. URLs in terminal are clickable, but require mouse movement.
A flag to copy the gist url to the clipboard could be nice as well.
