Unfortunately the background was created a long time ago at 1920x1200 and is not a a vector, so when it scales passed that size, the lines blur with jpeg artifacts.

I will have to do an HD upscale to 2160p and smooth out the edges with filters in Photoshop.

I've added the upscaled background image in v1.7.2.0. Let me know if it looks any better.

Sorry for late reply, been busy with school......

Ah fair enough...

Perhaps turn it into a vector image so whatever resolution you display it to, the image will always look it's best?

Then you will have to do it again when 4320p monitors become a thing....but I guess that's pretty far away so you don't have to worry about that.....or what if they have a triple monitor setup and expand the window onto all three thanks to eyefinity or nvidia surround? That would stretch it pass the 2160p resolution for sure! hahaha

Just checked with 1.7.5-alpha, it's still apparent.....

I use a system in Visual Studio called WPF to design the program. It might be the way it renders the jpeg. I set the quality to the highest for the window rendering. I'm unable to see the problem because I'm using a 1200p monitor.

I'm not able to convert the jpeg into a vector, I've tried with different programs and Adobe Illustrator to automatically convert it, but the edges become jagged. I will have to vectorize it by tracing it by hand, but that's something I'll have to do in the future.

Ah I guess it's just me then.....

You could alternatively save it in a lossless format, unless Axiom doesn't take lossless formats well as a theme?

I think it will take a lossless png, however I don't know if that will fix the issue. I think it's the WPF rendering.

What is it that you're mostly seeing? The pixelation of the lines? Or do you see blocky compression artifacts?

AS long as the program doesn't re-transcode it into a lossy format(For whatever reason) to display as a background, it should fix it.......
