in Svbtle the # of kudos are displayed in the interface next to the article's title in the admin interface. Sounds like a good idea.

almost done in the kudos branch.
Be sure to confirm that holding the kudo on iOS devices works in the same manner as hovering. That is... if you stop holding early it stops the action (just like moving the mouse away).
